How we are cared for sets the stage for what kind of people we become. In today's complex and demanding world, how can parents ensure that their children grow up to be happy, emotionally healthy adults? The half-hour documentary Today's Families: The Wonder of Toddlers explores the remarkable toddler years through the experiences of three diverse families and the insights of a leading authority on child development, with additional comments from CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien.
Featured are: Jamila and JaSun Frone, a dual-career couple in Washington, DC, whose primary goal is to be "conscious parents" to their 16-month-old daughter Layla; attorney Macy Lee and her husband Louis Liou, a surgeon, who live in Milton, Massachusetts with their 6-year-old son, Carter, and 2-year-old daughter, Avery; and Laurie and Vance Wright, who live with their adopted children, Claire, 2 1/2 years old, and Zach, 10 1/2 months old, on a farm in Blackridge, Virginia.
